I got my second bunch of cd's from the mix cd exchange group yesterday
That made me very happy, also, it was a nice surprise to get cd's from different members from the first exchange, including a very cool mix from the great Lorin!!
On other news: I saw yesterday the lest Star Wars movie and was deepley moved by it, it made me cry and it also made me feel that George Lucas has not lost it. I read the book based on screenplay before watching the flix and loved it and also I felt that the book filled all those gaps that needed to be filled, and even thought the movie left some gaps it still did a good job of explaining things that someone might have found odd or confusing. (for those who read the book but has not seen the movie yet, there are still one or two surprises) I want and will see the movie a few more times before it leaves the movie theathres and hopefully I will make a good comparison between this movie and other ones, but at least, based on a first impression it felt as one of the best ones and also the most violent and darker off all the films that comprise the saga.
I am rereading "Clockers" by Richard Price this days, what a great book!! Strongly recommended too all you fans of "The Shield" and "The Wire". The prose is very pretty and hopefully during this weekend I will add some stuff to my next journal entries.
"'Rocco, that lady you were gonna brain? Twenty years ago when she was a little girl I arrested her father for beating her baby brother to death. The father was a real piece of shit. Now that she's all grown up? She's a real piece of shit. That kid you saved tonight. If he lives that long, if he grows up? He's gonna be a real piece of shit. Rocco,'Frog says to me, 'it's the cycle of shit and you can't do nothing about it. So take it easy and just do your job.'"
