Small update:
So I was watching "Munich" just now, which some people whose opinion I strongly respect hated, I loved, and I will get into the why now.
This movie is about history, so I do not care about spoiling your movie entertainment, so be warned!
In this movie we saw some of what the state of Israel did as revenge against palestinian terrorists. First of all, and this is basic, even for non-religious persons like me, that revenge is wrong, because it poisons people who where basically good. Second of all, the crimes of members of any nationality does not make the whole national group guilty of them. Third of all, I think some crimes might be unforgivable, which I do not know. Like for example the Holocaust, or the Munich massacre. And a corollary to the fifth statement, sporting competitions are sacred, SACRED! So anyone who messes with them, for any reason, deserves strong punishment, from cheaters to terrorists, no matter for what cause.
The first question this movie raises, and probably the main topic it deals with is what can be done for "home". "Home" is probably the main concept in the movie and the motivation of every main character in the movie. Is everything forgivable for "home"?, is everything permitted for "home"?, is everything allowed for "home"?. I do not know, but what we see in the movie is horrible, what we read in books about this tragedy is horrible, what we read in the newspapers TODAY is horrible, what we see in the tv TODAY is horrible. And Munich happened a few years ago, so, have we learned anything???????
I think I will not write anymore now, but I might write more about this movie later, and how it affected. People who read this space regularly know I am interested in topics like "nation", "nation-state" and the whole Middle East mess (or as the Daily Show writers know the region: "Mess-o-potamia").
Have nice weekend you beautiful people everywhere!
