Home today.
Cleaning out the truck tomorrow.
Re-loading Sunday.
Make final delivery in Ohio Tuesday.
Look for a new job.

I always forget that I have HBO. I really want to get into the new "John Adams" series. Perhaps a few weeks off from the road will facilitate that.

I think you should hunt down and drink a good old Pabst Blue Ribbon for me!

I can't decide what I will be partaking in this evening. I have been blowing money like a rockstar lately, maybe it is time for a nice quiet night home.

That doesn't make me old and boring does it?

I would imagine you could get pretty much any job you want. Are you thinking OTR or local?

I see that SG continues to fuck up their website. Clicking the "I loved it!" button is clearly not working correctly. And where is the option to launch the Flash or HTML viewer in a separate window? I find it extremely annoying to not have that, along with the thumbnails.

Why continue to mess with shit that ain't broken in the first place?

EDIT: Okay...

Eighteen years ago, I kissed a freshman who was on the swim team. I was a senior and the team captain. It didn't really go anywhere, and I haven't given it any thought since then. But she recently contacted me via Classmates. And she's giving me funny feelings. In a good way.
dr_lizardo:
I've never had anything like that happen, but then I never kissed any freshmen when I was a senior.

Nothing much new going on at the moment. I'm still feeling annoyed and burned out, but I'm not the kind of person that will quit without a backup plan. I've been with these guys for years, and despite recent disappointments they do still offer a number of advantages that I might be hard pressed to find elsewhere.

I'm somewhat irritated that the reefer company I...

We've been listening to a lot of those Dropkick Murphy's.

Check out Circled by Hounds.

So, the new job that I've supposedly gotten involves me following trucks filled with expensive equipment around in a car. I'm not actually sure why these cars follow them, other than to make sure they get where their going. I don't have a gun, so we're not security, and the things in the trucks aren't... um... alive, so they aren't going to try to escape. So, overall, I'm confused, but will be glad to have a second job.

I'm considering several different options at this point. I'm not in a hurry, but I have to tell you that I'm getting really worn out at work. Running the same roads on a daily basis, and dealing with a number of mechanical, weather, and idiot related annoyances takes its toll.

I've contacted three companies so far just for information. One is a competing over-the-road carrier...

Good luck with whatever change you make. I was also thinking about hauling cars back when I started.

I was surprised at how good the Sam Adams white was when I tried it. Just as good as Franziskaner Hefe Weisen.

Thank you! blush

While a date with the governor would be a big deal, I don't think I could date a Republican wink

This has been a difficult winter. Actually, I'm inclined to say that it has been the most challenging winter season I've had in my entire trucking decade. For whatever reason, the variety of trips I used to get from Pohl has disappeared, and I have spent 99% of my time simply running back and forth between the east coast and the Ohio/Indiana area. I've frequently...

OK. I've been out of the country for awhile. Can you fill me in on the politics??

Some ask what have you done to make a difference in your lifetime? This is my answer.

The official state motto of Rhode Island is one simple word: HOPE.

I never said I was a good driver biggrin

Had a little time off. Hitting the road again this morning. Ain't really much else to report.

...except tomorrow is a big day, especially if you live in Texas, Ohio, Vermont, or Rhode Island.
dr_lizardo:
Hey. Obama should appoint you head of the DOT or something after all your support.

Last week the driver I was out with training in the arts of Coca Cola told me that a guy he knew leased a truck from someplace in western mass and got his loads off of loadfinder.com. He was able to pay his truck off in a year and now just works when he feels like it. This sort of thing sounds a little like a fairy tale now that I'm typing it out but I thought I'd ask if you knew of anyone who'd been successful with that business plan, O/O using loadfinder. I wonder whether it's actually just an online load broker. The friend he mentioned I'm pretty sure was also a flatbedder, which might just be inherently more lucrative but only marginally viable for someone with my lack of muscle mass. There might be a lot more competition and less money in dry van loads which is a complex as I want to get.

Coke isn't too bad, main thing that worries me is whether or not my back would hold up over the long term hauling the sodapop up stairs.

I didn't hate the road, I just really really hated trucking companies. I'm going to try taking a look at loadfinder.com.

Madonna is hottest wearing western gear.

For shizzle. 49 years old and still turning me on like she did back in the early 80s.
