I am Eli the truck driver.

I am a Libertarian living in a predominantly democratic area.

I have, in fact, never voted for a democratic Presidential candidate.

I make (way) less than $250,000 per year.

99.9% of all plumbers make less than $250,000 per year.

I would pay significantly less taxes under the Obama plan. Compare your own.

I am horrified at the prospect of paying taxes on many thousands of dollars worth of health benefits I receive.

I have felt embarrassed and pessimistic about the actions of my country's government for the last eight years. Despite the fact that I voted (once) to put our current president in office.

I am worried about the possibility of losing my livelihood to significantly cheaper outsourcing should we continue to fast-track all the tenants of NAFTA.

I want to be optimistic. I want to be hopeful rather than pander to a leader's fear mongering.

I want a leader who genuinely acts in the best interest of average Americans rather than in the best interest of corporate America while selling the line that it'll trickle down. We've tried that. It ain't working.

I strongly take issue with discussing war only in terms of victory and defeat. And I am resentful that a former naval officer is more concerned with "victory" at any cost rather than the understanding that situations are rarely black and white. What exactly are we getting for our $10 billion a month again? I might just be a former enlisted peon, but I'm pretty sure the situation was better BEFORE we ever stuck our nose in it.

I resent the fact that a former military officer continues to defend the decision to enter into this war despite the fact that it's now commonly accepted that the pretense for it was inaccurate. I resent the fact that he keeps suggesting Barack Obama was wrong. What?

I take issue with the classification of Sarah Palin as a representation of typical American values. When I listen to her campaign speeches (I listen to political radio all day at work where they play them live and un-cut), it makes my skin crawl. But lets face it... the VP is an insignificant job anyhow. Unless the President dies...

But more than anything else I resent the fact that some people I otherwise like and respect have actually bought into some of the bullshit fear-monger campaigning being done. People I consider friends... who by all technical standards have a higher level of education than I do... consider Barack Obama to be a wolf in sheep's clothing. A "risky" choice. They'd rather buy into the 100% negative campaign rhetoric of the GOP than to allow themselves to actually feel hopeful, optimistic, uplifted, and inspired. For once.

I sincerely feel sorry for them.
