Don't be fooled, girls.
McCain is no idiot. He saw an opportunity. He saw how divisive democratic support was for the two leading candidates. He sees an opportunity to potentially gain the support of tens of thousands of disgruntled women.
It was a brilliant choice, in my humble opinion.
I hope most women are not foolish enough to jump on the female VP bandwagon simply due to a gender issue. Do you REALLY want to perpetuate the complete SHIT we have had for the last 8 years? She may be a woman, but she is no Hillary Clinton. Vote with your brains. I like to think that most women I know wouldn't buy into this political strategy bullshit. But I fear that at least some people will. I truly hope I'm wrong about that. We're already hearing the "women of America aren't finished yet!" rhetoric from her lips. Bitch, wtf are you talking about?
Look, I don't know shit about Sarah Palin. I doubt many people do outside of Alaska. She's a woman and she's a republican. That's all that really matters if you ask me. In the interest of full disclosure, I'm NOT a democrat. I've got a long history of voting different ways based on what I thought was the right choice at the time. That includes my colossal blunder of voting for W back in 2000. At the time I was a McCain supporter. And now, as then, I have a great respect and admiration for Mr. McCain. But I think his window has passed. He WOULD have been better than what we've had for the last eight years. But in 2008 he is no longer relevant. And I fear a perpetuation of the status quo more than anything else.
