I'm considering several different options at this point. I'm not in a hurry, but I have to tell you that I'm getting really worn out at work. Running the same roads on a daily basis, and dealing with a number of mechanical, weather, and idiot related annoyances takes its toll.
I've contacted three companies so far just for information. One is a competing over-the-road carrier similar to whom I'm working for already. Their pay is slightly better, but the information they sent me is pretty slim. There's not anything that really jumps out and grabs my attention or desire to go to work for them. The second is a refrigerated carrier promising me coast-to-coast runs. The third is a car hauler. Luxury cars, actually. Their brochure claims their average driver salary is over $72,000 with their top-earners going over 6 figures. Tempting, although that is a big change from the kind of work that I'm used to.
But as I said, it's nice to be able to make such choices when you're already employed and aren't desperate.
Not a whole lot else going on, aside from feeling in the dumps overall -- but its mostly due to work related issues. I'm just worn out. It also sucks that I have virtually no social life due largely to my occupation... being away most of the time... and spending what little time I actually AM home just running around doing errands or TRYING to actually relax. Meh. I might have forgotten how sex actually works... at least with someone else. Depressing.
Since I only get to drink on a couple-few days each month, tonight I shall be indulging in excessive amounts of Samuel Adams White Ale. It's really outstanding -- I highly recommend it to you folks sophisticated enough to not drink "cheap beer". But naturally, considering what weekend it is -- I am saving room for several pints of Guinness.

I was surprised at how good the Sam Adams white was when I tried it. Just as good as Franziskaner Hefe Weisen.
While a date with the governor would be a big deal, I don't think I could date a Republican
