I find it to be an interesting coincidence that exactly one year ago... Labor Day weekend... I was down in Tampa, Florida. Because that's where I am right now. A year ago I had a delivery going to Tampa for the Tuesday following the holiday. There was a lot of extra time so I had about a day and a half to have fun at Busch Gardens. Sure, it's a little bit pathetic to go to an amusement park by yourself, but I have a good excuse. It isn't like I have any real choice in the matter anyhow.
Unfortunately this time around I'm making my delivery TODAY... the Friday before the holiday. Which means that I'll be getting some type of re-load down here that'll head north for Tuesday delivery. Not really very conducive to going to Busch Gardens again, sadly. I'd probably have to go today and/or Saturday and then make the trip following that. EDIT: Well I'm picking up in Lakeland, then dropping the loaded trailer in Pohl's yard on Sunday. Which means I'll get another load there that'll keep me moving. Good money that way, but certainly no time for amusement parks.
Only 3+ weeks until my real Florida vacation anyhow. I believe I've mentioned this a couple times in past blogs... a (partial) family trip with the Mom, one sister, and my brother-in-law. It'll be cool to not have to rent a car for once, and have everything taken care of. Step out of the hotel and bam... get on the monorail. Can't be much cooler than that.
I need a new boonie hat though. Baseball caps aren't going to cut it for keeping sun off my ears and neck. Not sure what my hat size is, however. Gotta find a tape measure around here somewhere and figure out my bucket girth.
I like Florida despite the bad weather (ie - hurricane) potential. I'd consider moving here if I felt that it'd be affordable considering insurance and all that jazz. I've been looking at Texas as well, but I'm leaving my options open for the time being.
That's it for now.

If I were an old geezer I could see doing florida in january, but I would not want to move down there permanently.
