There's a lot of talk about bridges lately, and their decrepit state. And speaking of states, MINE has the worst record of ALL, percentage wise. 53% of Rhode Island's bridges are in deplorable condition. Yeah, that makes me feel good. Perhaps if Mr. Bush wasn't wasting 500 billion dollars trying to play policeman to the world we might be able to take care of our own country.
Right now I'm hanging around in the area of Allentown, PA just waiting for my turn to get loaded. I'm on a brokered load (as in, the freight ordinarily belongs to another logistics company and my company is just the sub-contractor). Pohl (my company) takes these loads rather than having a driver sit around with nothing to do, even if Pohl gets a smaller piece of the pie as a result (since there is a middle-man involved). They aren't always the most choice assignments, but it is better than not moving... especially when the trip gets me home. So this load delivers on Saturday morning in Uxbridge... which is only about 10 miles from Providence. So I'll have the rest of the weekend off. Pick up some new DVDs. Get some real food. Got to try on some clothes I mail-ordered. (EDIT: Clothes didn't fit right, but since they're LLBean, it's no big deal... they take back ANYthing).
With any luck, I might be able to enjoy the last day of "Shark Week". Since I have no television in the truck, I've been missing out.
I'm growing anxious to get my folding bike. But still 3-4 weeks to wait probably.
I finished watching all of "Deadwood". 3 seasons worth in just as many weeks. Very entertaining, but also very expensive. I've been getting so many new additions to my collection lately that I need to order a second DVD case. I've already got one filled and it's 7 shelves tall.
Nothing much else to report today aside from I've been feeling a bit lonely lately. Meh. But this makes me laugh...
