Arizona sky in Pittsburgh this morning. For whatever inexplicable reason, I've never been a huge fan of this city. But coming down the hill of I-279 this morning with the sun reflecting off the downtown skyscrapers, the city had a bright, clean look to it.
I'm sure that I'd like the city a lot more if it wasn't for the fact that I'm always in a tractor-trailer here. It's so full of steep hills, cramped winding roads, and narrow iron bridges, that driving a large vehicle here can be somewhat annoying. To be honest, I've never visited the city as a tourist... so it's difficult to form a fair opinion based solely on my work. But I digress. This morning, things look great. I'm getting loaded at a textile plant just a stone throw south of Kennywood. It's pillows. I'll take this light load on up to the Kohl's distribution center in Wurtsboro, NY for tomorrow morning... an easy trip.
I love this job some days, and hate it others. But working during Daylight Savings Time is always better. That extra daylight later in the day is a real benefit to me with my typical schedule. Heck, it doesn't get really dark until after 9pm right now. In the winter it feels like I am constantly working in the dark. Wake up before sunrise, and still have hours of work ahead of me when the sun sets at 430 in the afternoon. Sucks. But right now, I'm loving life.
I have nothing else particularly interested to report unless you're interested in my long list of recent Amazon purchases. Still got the laptop for sale (check last blog). I'm willing to negotiate on the price because at the moment its doing nothing but collecting dust on a shelf.
