It takes an incredible amount of willpower not to over-eat. And to make sensible choices with what I DO eat. Before I started this occupation, I never really had to give much thought to my diet. But 50 pounds later... it is now the foremost thing on my mind.
Bravo to me for having lost 36 of those offending extra pounds, and I believe I am still on track to lose the rest. But god dammit, it is difficult. The food choices out here is poor. I can't even buy any freakin' SKIM MILK in these truck stops. They sell only whole, 2%, and chocolate. I mean... the 2% is better than nothing but that's still not what I really want. WTF is so hard about carrying a fully array of milk choices? I only use milk for my cereal... I don't DRINK it. So honestly I am much better off using skim and skipping those extra fat calories. This really irritates me.
And I can't begin to explain how difficult it was for me to resist buying a slice of carrot cake tonight. And then after my shower I had to resist buying gummy bears. I just feel like I need to munch on something sometimes... but doing so is how I got fat.
I only drink diet soda now. That's something, I guess. And honestly I don't even mind it.
More coffee. No cream and sugar (which is actually the way I like it anyhow). Only un-sweetened iced tea. No buffet unless I'm only doing the salad bar.
I'm down to 214. It's progress, and everyone tells me it really shows. But it is damn hard to be disciplined.
