I don't really have a whole lot to report. I'm working a lot and don't expect to go home again before the Christmas weekend. Which is fine since I don't really give much of a shit about Christmas anyhow. Did all my shopping already... which consisted of gifts for two nieces and a birthday present for my mother (who is unfortunate enough to have her birthday on December 25th). I got her $200 worth of awesome food from Omaha Steaks.
Road rage is running rampant. You people need to chill the fuck out on the highway. I was telling my mother a story about a sub-compact car who came whizzing by me on the right with his horn held down and middle finger extended in my direction. This was in Connecticut on I-84. I was in the far left lane (ordinarily not legal for big trucks when there are 3 or more lanes in each direction)... but I was approaching a left-exit that I needed to take. I was traveling the speed limit. In fact, I was absolutely 100% doing everything right. Yet somehow that person in the tiny car weighing about 77,000 less than me felt compelled to cut me off and show their displeasure with me for... my ability to drive like a professional.
Yeah. Christmas cheer and all. Just another reason I am an atheist. Too much hypocrisy going on among "believers."

From what I can tell most of the larger companies tend to be within a cent per mile of each other for beginning grads. Swift is offering 36cpm for northeast regional and 26cpm otr jumping up to 32cpm after 6 months, 2cpm ahead of US Express oops Xpress, assuming i have all the up to date accurate info.
I suspect that half of how good your company is comes down to your dispatcher anyway, and that's basically a spin on the roulette wheel. I seem to recall the Werner rep saying you could change driver managers if the one you've got isn't working well for you, but I don't know how widely such things are practiced, as opposed to just changing companies.
I don't know if ignorance is always bliss, but eventually you've just got to pick something and go.
