So I had 3 and a half days off. And no matter how much time, it never feels like enough. Usually when I come home there is just a ton of stuff to do and this holiday time was no exception. I spent Thanksgiving day visiting my best friend Andre and his family. Was a great time, especially since I hadn't seen them in quite a while. Hopefully I'll get another chance around Christmas as well. We played a fair amount of WoW and I made some satisfying progress. Lately I don't seem to have much time or a good enough internet connection while out on the road so my playing has been severely curtailed. I've got plenty of other good things to do, of course. But sometimes you just need a certain fix. Anyhow, the visit went well.
I set up the new flat screen television... which is pretty nice and I'm happy with the purchase. I spent some time doing research and eventually purchased a new DVD player with up-converting technology and an HDMI cable to connect it. Made a huge difference in the output quality. I actually do NOT play to change the cable from analog to digital HDTV simply because I'm not home often enough to really give that much of a shit about it. Even without that, it is still a significant improvement and of course DVDs now look fantastic. I didn't get around to buying a VGA cable to hook the big screen up to my laptop but I'm just going to order one so it'll be there on my next trip home.
I helped my mother shop for some new furniture. She ended up picking out a leather sofa and chair at Cardi's. Really nice too... it has an interesting "worn" look to it like the leather of a bomber jacket. I actually paid for it, but she says she'll be paying me back. Ended up being like $2300 including a warranty, tax, and delivery. Yikes.
I spent most of today driving and getting back into the swing of things. I was hoping to make it to the Ohio state line but I lost a lot of time due to significant traffic and an unusually high number of dumb-asses on the road. To be expected on a holiday weekend, but still annoying. So I didn't get quite that far. I was feeling tired by the time I was approaching Brookville so I decided to pull into the Flying J here for the night. Shouldn't be any problem getting to Findlay, Ohio by noon tomorrow. Don't know where I'm headed after that.

I was just doing some random driving today, and got held up by a couple of bulls that had gotten out of their enclosure and were out in the road. The police and the bulls' owners were trying to herd them back where they belonged, and the bulls eventually just decided to cooperate.
