My hand (finger) seems to be heaing just fine. Faster than I expected, actually. I kept it bandaged for two days but now I am leaving it exposed and just being careful. It continued to occasionally bleed a little bit during the course of the day at first. Can't exactly avoid moving my hand around. That's stopped now and it it looking better.
Physiology is a fascinating thing. As I'd mentioned, this was a really deep cut. Into the muscle of my finger. Well... the broken skin doesn't come together on its own as it might if I'd gotten stitches. Instead, the tissue underneeth undergoes some kind of transformation and actually becomes the new skin. It's fascinating. Anyhow, as long as this remains clean I figure it'll be almost fully healed in a week or so.
I've got a busy few days ahead of me. Right now I'm in Brookville, PA (western side of the state). I need to get up to Wurtsboro, NY and drop this trailer. Then from there up to Manchester, NH by this evening. The freight I get in Manchester is always going to the same place (back to Lexington, KY which is where I was yesterday). I haven't gone south in a while but they're keeping me pretty busy so I'm not complaining. (The only thing that REALLY bothers me is when customers aren't ready when they promise us). The nice thing about the weekend is that I don't have to worry so much about a time schedule. I'm having a big breakfast while I write this. My work is all "drop and hook" today anyhow... and I'll be glad for the full belly later on.
Today I'll listen to many of my favorite radio programs. NPR has a few stations on SIRIUS that broadcast many shows. I think I have mentioned in the past that they don't carry Morning Edition or All Things Considered (I would only listen to the latter anyhow since Howard Stern occupies most of my mornings). But they have most of the weekend home runs, such as:
"Car Talk",
"Wait, wait... don't tell me!"
"Whad'ya Know",
and "This American Life".
I am not a fan of "Prairie Home Companion" but that is also offered. Incidentally... the fastest hour of my week is the one where I'm listening to Tom & Ray. I'm not sure what it is about their program in particular, but whenever I tune in... the hour just evaporates as if it was only ten minutes.
Last but not least, I freakin' missed the Patriots. I had the game alert set up on my Sirius but I was out of the truck at 8pm. D'oh! But it looks like it was quite a blowout and thus probably wasn't too interesting anyhow. Doesn't really matter... it's just pre-season.
