You have to love a state with moose warning signs on the highway. Maine is just a beautiful place and accounted for about 370 of my miles today. Last night I talked to a driver that said New England was his least favorite place to drive. He was a rookie and obviously completely ignorant. The area surrounding Boston can suck... and the lower-half of I-95 in Connecticut is no picnic. But there are hundreds of easy, beautiful miles... especially as you go north.
I'm at the very small T/A in Greenland, New Hampshire tonight... having gone up and back to Bangor already. Tomorrow morning I'm making a pickup near Fitchburg, Mass. and it is headed for Greenville, Ohio (western side, northwest of Dayton). Hopefully from there I'll get a trip home since I'm due. Closing in on a month away right now. That doesn't bother me in the least bit, but I need to check mail now and then especially when my debit card expires next month.
A special "thank you" to all of you lovely ladies who drive in convertables or have a moonroof. The breast glance brightens my day. Keep wearing those low-cut shirts please. I love you all... from the huge tracts of land to the delicious IBTs.

The Werner Kenworth was a fine ship as well, with better visibility, but the pete makes you stand around with your eyes bugged out; "ooooh, can I touch it?" Big yellow cat under the hood.
I might not mind going into NYC once in a great while if I knew EXACTLY what I was doing and if it was at the end of a two or three week stint and I could do the city for a couple of days. Come to think of it that would be a good way of visiting various major cities, just ask to be at city x y or z when you've earned a couple days off.
i think i'm just bitter from tourists coming into the store i work in and start yammering on about how beautiful and QUAINT everything is, and what a nice QUAINT place the whole state is, and how is this QUAINT harbor and that QUAINT tourist trap and GAAAHHH!!!
i'm very tired, and i hate the word "quaint."
sounds like "taint."
i'll give you one thing, it IS wicked fun driving around the curvier coastal roads and stuff. wheeeee.
