Ok so here's how it all played out, abridged version.

One dude at that Teamster job liked me a lot and was defiitely in my corner. The other dude (who isn't even a company employer but an outside consultant) has a problem with me. He's been an asshole throughout the entire process.

The guy on my side has been out due to a death in the family over the weekend. Thus, during the timeperiod when the decision was being made, the Powers That Be were only hearing one (jaded) side of the story. Long story short, I'm not getting that job offer.

Fine though, I'm seriously fucking sick of getting dicked around by that motherfucking consultant. What a prick.

I'm going back to work for POHL which is a small company (aproximately 100 or so drivers) situated in western Ohio. They're just good people and have always treated me with respect. In fact, they were really, really disappointed that I left last year. The recruiter was quite excited that I called him up today. Got hired 30 seconds later. I work my ass off with these guys... which is good, but it can also be stressful. Easy $50-55k a year with them and I don't have to worry anymore about these outrageous fuel prices. Only major bummer at all is that I cannot bring my cat with me in the truck. That is really a serious drawback, but weighed against the BS you can get from some of the BIG trucking companies, it's the decision I have to make.

The company is based in Ohio, but I have never had a problem getting home when I needed to. Plus they give me awesome weekend trips to Miami or Laredo, Texas when I choose to NOT go home. Once in a rare while even Denver. They even send me out Sophie's way once or twice a month. One thing is for sure, I can count on getting the miles.

Most likely leaving on Sunday or Monday. I'm not yet sure if I have to go through the typical 2.5 day orientation program as a re-hire.

Ok, well glad you know what's going to be the deal now. Sorry about that asshole.
