Might become a Teamster. Never had a union affiliation before since MOST common carriers are not union based at all. I've never actually been a big fan of unions because my train of thought has generally been if a company takes care of their employees properly then it wouldn't even be needed.
Having said that, the possibility does offer me some very interesting and perhaps desireable advantages.
This is still only a possibility however, which would be based on me being accepted for and actually taking this new job I'm considering. It might be slightly less money (most likely high 40's to low 50's) but the benefits would be impossible to beat. Don't Teamsters get a PENSION? Pensions are becoming almost unheard of in American employment these days. Mostly it is just 401k and a puny company match.
So we'll see what happens. But hey, Mickey Mouse is a Teamster so I'll be in good company.

i've not heard that about teamsters getting pensions. i like to think someone would have mentioned it to me. i think they have their own savings plan that you can sign up for, but i'm pretty sure it's a 401k type of deal.
