Well, packing for my move is officially under way. I am finally getting into it and it is as insane as I expected it to be. I did 10 boxes today and also cleaned stuff and man, is this ever going to be a project! I will be so happy once I am in the new place. I did hire the movers and finish switching the utilities over, so theres that load off of my mind. This weekend is push time, so I hope to post how relieved I am on Monday. Sigh
Work is picking up. I had my best week ever on the phone. Lots of horny guys coming out of the woodwork, I guess. I am excited to see if it continues to pick up, especially after the move (when I can work more hours). I still may end up getting something part-time outside the house, but for now, I am happy with the progress my job is making.
I am going through a bout of insomnia again. I have so many things whirling through my mind constantly. It makes me crazy. I wish I could get to sleep now, because I have another busy day ahead of me tomorrow.
Not much else is going on. My mother wants to give me and Brian her old laptop, so thats cool, if it actually happens. It would be nice to go to the caf and write like mad. I never thought I would be more comfy on a keyboard than with pen and paper, but its just faster and easier to edit. I still like the idea of bringing my notepad to the park though, just watching the birds and writing poetry. Im sure I will never substitute handwriting completely.
Oh, I had lots of fun on Valentines Day. Brian and I went to a fancy restaurant downtown and had the best food. It was so pretty inside! Then, afterwards, we went to a pub for the San Jose Poetry Slam. Ive been to open-mics before, but this was my first slam. It was so fun! I got to listen to a lot of really great local poets and I got to meet Mike McGee. His work rocks my world! I even got a wonderfully yummy hug from him before we left. He is going to be on Def Poetry Jam. I love when local people make a splash, especially when they are actually talented and deserve it.
I am gonna try to get ready for some sleep now. Wish me luck!
Goodnight.
