DJing the wedding last night made me realize that maybe I don't want to DJ professionally. That's not entirely correct. I'd love to have my own weekly, biweekly or monthly rockabilly night, but I don't think that I want to DJ events where I'm playing music that I don't know and love and where I'm not given some freedom in what I can play. Though, getting paid is certainly nice. I knew I'd have to play music that I'm not into, but I didn't realize just how hard that would be. I love playing music for people. But what I love about it is introducing people to music they may not have heard. And I certainly don't enjoy playing country music. So, was last night worth it? Haven't made up my mind yet. The only thing that I learned last night was that wedding officiants and MCs with prison tattoos have horrible taste in music.
