So I just bought a Canon Rebel XTI (EOS SLR 10.1MP) along w/ a 18-55MM Lens, for $500. (ALL NEW)
I was wandering if I got a good deal and if this a good starter camera for me?
I'm by no means a profesional photographer but definately want to progress into one.
Am I on the right track or should I take it back and get something else?
And I have no idea how to take black n white pics w/ it either?!?!!??
Any and all help would be totaly appreciated

Oh and always shoot RAW. It gives you *darkroom* like control over your work.
