Okay, if you wanna see a great movie, you should check out Lost in Translation. This is the best stuff Bill Murray has ever done and if he doesn't get an Oscar, then the award is even more meaningless than it is right now.
I dug it because it perfectly captured that dislocated feeling I get when I travel all over and how disconnected you can get. I went to Japan a couple years ago (Tokyo and Kyoto) and this film nailed the look and mood of my experience perfectly from the Shinto shrines to ultra high speed neon society to the oddity of seeing Brad Pitt pimping Suntory Boss Coffee from every kiosk and street corner.
And the music kicks...it is so cool to hear Kevin Shields again. And when's the last time you heard Jesus and Mary Chain on the big screen? Um, The Crow I guess..but not used as well as it is here.
Um, oh yeah..Scarlett Johannsen is in it too

did you every see the virgin suicides?
same director sofia
Speaking of Sofia, I loved the show she did with Zoe Cassavetes a few years back - it may have been Comedy Central or MTV that syndicated it. I think it was called High Octane...cool, funny stuff ..maybe the will run it again now that she is getting big and famous!
