I'm stuck in a Chicago nursing home that's been criminally negligent. Over one third of Coronavirus deaths in Illinois are in nursing homes. But it's not because people are old, but because, at least here at Clark Manor, they are forgotten. And there are MANY people under 70 in low-income nursing homes, for psych issues, like myself. And anyway, no one deserves a preventable death, or to spend their last days with THIS shit. I spoke to a friend here today and she told me, "I didn't beat cancer for this."
It's a Facebook link, public of course. It's been sent to several media outlets; it's circulating on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (I'll have a YouTube channel up soon.). I've written the mayor, and my alderwoman has asked me for a detailed bullet point report. My friend Daryl Wilson, singer of The Bollweevils and ALSO an ER doctor, gave it to a friend of his who's an investigative reporter.
I beg you to lend me an ear, and I'm grateful to anyone who helps spread awareness of this medical massacre. This is becoming a nationwide disaster within a disaster.
These people are mostly disabled and poor and many are people of color (of course.
I hope you're all doing well, staying sane, and loving all the people in your life.
