It finally happened: I've given in to watching and enjoying reality TV. I've got a very limited list though: Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew and Jersey Shore. It appears these may be the worst of the worst, which is why I get such a fucking kick out of them.
There are so many better things to do with my time...
I didn't always despise reality TV. I watched The Real World from the start, when it appeared what, 18 years ago? To a junior high in suburbia with virtually no social life, it can be compelling.
I've got nothing insightful to say about any of this. Fun fact though: Kyle from The Real World:Chicago was my junior high bully. Never beat the shit out of me really, it was mostly psychological bullying with some socks in the arm. Years later I heard he was on Days of Our Lives. I watched bits of the show when I could until I finally saw him, a character in a hospital bed with a bandaged head.
Also, I was friends with people that vandalized the Real World house in Chitown.
God bless the punks.
