I started dating this girl named Shannon somewhere around over a month ago. I met her at a bar, despite the fact that I normally hate meeting people at bars. I just really haven't had much luck there. This story will be no different. Shannon is a gorgeous girl. Absolutely stunning. I believe that as long as someone is half way decent looking and has a good personality they can get just about anyone. For some reason when I saw this girl I began to doubt that. But I figured what the hell, I might as well try approaching her. What's there to lose?
I was able to mingle my way into her group of friends, keep them laughing for a bit and pull her aside to talk. We hit it off and began seeing each other shortly after. I began to realize that while Shannon was inconceivably hot, she did have a downside - she was a complete bitch. Her last and only relationship went on for four years. Her ex was a complete pushover and pretty much did whatever she said. I'm not like that at all. Sure, women will always be able to work their feminine charm over us men for simple things, but there's no way in hell I'm canceling two $75 concerts I had planned months ago to take her out that night because she commands it (badass shows, btw!). No way at all. She also would often call me at 4am to talk. She knew I had to work the next day, and never called for any particular reason. She'd usually get mad at me for telling her I had to go at the start of the call. If I didn't pick up my phone she'd call again, several times in a row. That not even mentioning how much she would text me. A bit crazy, and my crazy meter goes pretty high.
I called her to tell her we needed to talk since I wanted to break things off with her. She didn't know I wanted to break things off with her when I called, but she insisted if we were going to talk that we meet somewhere. We met at a local bar that she suggested. After I broke up with her she tossed what was left of her drink in my face and left. Awesome!
People have always told me "nice guys always lose". I tend to disagree with that. I've had a lot of luck just being myself and treating women well. I knew early on that Shannon wasn't a long term dating prospect, so I decided to try the whole "jerk" approach for the first time. She was always bitching at me anyway, so eh, why not? I didn't really treat her "bad" per se, but I did often ignore her, disagree with her on most things and never really showed any interest. This turned out to be very astounding because she seemed really drawn to me because of it. I really don't plan on acting that way in the future since it's not me, but it turned out to be an interesting little experiment.
