Hello there!
So I know yesterday I said I had submitted an application to SG, well, later that same day I found out that, yes indeed they accepted my app. Yeah! Woo-hoo! So that was the easy part. . . now I've gotta shoot a killer set. . . my brain is buzzing with ideas.
And, besides thinking about set ideas, I thought that I should give you all a proper introduction to, well, me!
(And that's when the mind goes blank! =)
Let's see. . . I am a jewelry designer first and barista second. The former is my creative passion (but doesn't pay much of the bills, at least yet!) and the latter is my bread and butter. I enjoy my work as a barista well-enough, I work at some pretty busy coffee shops, there's not usually enough time to acknowledge the inevitable boredom. I sell my art work, i.e. my jewelry, through my website at Designs by a Hummingbird.
(Hey maybe check it out if you like!!! Shameless plug, I know!) I'm always taking classes to learn more skills, recently it was a glass bead making class, this weekend it's a PMC (precious metal clay) class. I'm really an artist (if I dare be bold enough to call myself that!) and a student of my craft. I think I will always be a student!
That's the work of my life.
The personal stuff: My girlfriend (who I also refer to as my wife) and I have been together almost six years. . . where did the time go? She is wonderful, and patient beyond all belief with my fiery nature. (She's on here too! Her member name is AnniP.) We have three cats and one rabbit. I'm sure you'll see more pictures of them than you'd prefer in the future! They are, needless to say, adorable.
The "drama": This is the stuff everyone really wants to know, right? Like how stubborn I can be, and how I overwork myself to the point of exhaustion because I just don't know when to stop "burning the candle at both ends" so to speak. I'm a perfectionist, and extremely loyal to my friends. . . I'm an Aries, what can I say? I love to read and sometimes write, I almost decided to major in English when I was in college. I love to work as hard as I play. . .
