Well, this is going to be a fantastic trip.
2000 miles!!!! In an RX8, ha.
Place to live is not sorted yet, I really hope I don't have to live out of my car for a bit. Not that I can't do that, but my car isn't really made to live out of. (Yes, this really was a request for a couch if the worst happens. It won't happen.)
So the route:
Wednesday next week: Elko Nevada.
Thursday: Rawlins Wyoming.
Friday: Grand Island Nebraska.
Saturday to where ever it is in Minnesota that I'll be living.
I'll be going through Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska and Iowa on my way over.
If I decide to be slightly more aggressive driving (which could easily happen considering I do enjoy driving), it'll be Salt Lake City on day one, Grand Island on day two and then Minnesota on day three. As much as I would like to do it, just to say I did, I am not going to attempt the 36 hours of straight driving (as much as it would fit me better in some ways, "I drove here in a day and a half!" "Seriously?" "Yep.")
The route is kind of amusing to me, a straight shot across the country and then turn left at Iowa. If I get lost I won't be saying this isn't Palm Springs. Luckily, a person that cares gave me the gift of GPS and I am grateful for that.
Tomorrow it is continue to get place sorted, oil change and fluids top off and check the car etc day. Followed by some other things I gotta take care of.
Exciting!
