I'm going to have my V-DAY a bit later in the week, as the plans didn't quite gel for today. Work, under-the-weatherness...that sort of stuff. So, I still get to plan it all out!
It's been a very boring week, although we had some snow, which was nice, being as it is Winter. I am looking forward to Spring, though. I want to open all the windows and breath in some fresh air... and hear the beautiful sounds of nature...the thumping bass of the rap-mobiles ( ), the cursing and screaming as yet another neighbor gets into a fight ( ), and the oft wailing sirens of fire engines and police cars coming in closer from the distance and stopping (lots of times) just outside our building. Ahhh, springtime on the "wrong side of the tracks"!
Back to my journal. Last Thursday was kinda fun. Except for the photoshoot. I was startin' to get a bit ticked...as I couldn't seem to get the right "look" going. And it wasn't exactly a success. In fact it was down right humiliating. But, on the way home we stopped at our favourite bar where it just happened there were already some of our favouritist friends already in the process of getting toasted. We sat down with them and managed to carry on quite a few funny conversations...one of which involved a local weatherman. The guy had just been busted after overdosing on heroin and rumours were flying that he had died. After all the bad rap our crowd gets about stuff like this, it made me feel oddly good that a suit wearing, respected public figure was caught doing the big H. (He isn't actually dead , thankfully ). At any rate, some of us were discussing going down to the local Meth clinic the next day to ask for special doses in his memory (not that we are junkies...it was all for a laugh), but as far as I know, it never happened. Ahh, the charms of living in Roanoke are just neverending.
Soon, I hope to have something more intricate to write about in my journal. Until then, I wish you all a Happy V-DAY!
