Here it is, 2006. I have all these fantastic plans and interesting projects for the coming year. Im all charged up and raring to go!
So what do you think the first thing I do this year is (aside from getting over New Years Eve that is)? You got it! Im cleaning up the ol homestead, taking down the Christmas tree and other assorted mundane tasks like washing the dishes.
Notice I called it a Christmas tree and NOT a Holiday tree. Whoever came up with this Holiday tree stuff is probably the same person that came up with sensible shoes. Im not a religious person by any measure but December 25th is Christmas and NOT Holiday anywhere on this planet. Yes, I know Christmas is a Christian thing but in this age I would much rather celebrate the diversity of ethnicity rather than trying to make it into a watered-down blurry mass. Christmas is Christmas, Chanukah is Chanukah, Ramadan is Ramadan and so on. You cant just lump them all together and expect everyone to call them Holiday.
One of the last things I did in 2005 was to visit The House of Pain (aka my local piercer). I wanted something to remember the end of the year so we tried piercing rings here and there and even THERE trying to come up with something interesting.
If I put any more piercings on my body Im going to jingle when I walk but, being a total whoos, I whoosed out. I only got 2 new labret piercings, a new ring in my left nostril and 2 new rings in my right ear. A fitting end to 2005 I think.
If anyone out there in SG land has an idea for an interesting and somewhat unique piercing I would love to hear about it.
Don't forget to check out some of my pics from my REJECTED set!
