Challenging times ahead...
After much deliberation I have decided to make some changes in the interest of completing my degree with a good grade. First and foremost, after a long and fruitful love affair, my ganja-smoking habits will be the first casualty. Not that I don't fully support the use of this all-cure herb, but it is a less than convenient way to spend my money over the last year of university and a joyful but unworthy distraction while I'm trying to get a LOT of work done. (I may be involved in music production - one of the most appropriate careers for a stoned music-lover to be in, but nevertheless I'm going to have a lot of running around to do if I want to produce some decent work.) I'll miss Mary Jane dearly for a while but I'm sure she'll be happy to wait while I study and after all, does absence not make the heart grow fonder?
The second change I'm making will be to pick up my reading habits. It's always been something I've enjoyed doing but I rarely make the decision to read a book over playing a game on the Xbox or a few toots on the old bong. That changes now. Read, read, read to replace smoking weed shall hereafter be my motto. Hopefully this will nurture my intellect and intelligence is after all, a dear friend of mine.
Thirdly! I have been playing guitar for about 8 years now and sadly my guitar playing has taken a back seat to my picking up drums over the last 3 years. While it isn't necessarily time wasted, (I love playing the drums and have gotten pretty decent due to playing almost every day since I started) I feel my skill should be far beyond what it currently is when it comes to playing guitar. Therefore I intend to get some advanced lessons, (finances permitting!) get myself a nice 7-string and rekindle my love for frets and strings!
Tattoos are next on the agenda! Having always admired them, earlier this summer I went out and got my Japanese full sleeve started. As soon as I get hold of some of that student loan, it's getting completed! It's currently just the outline and has been for a while, making me a little annoyed but mostly just excited about getting it finished, so I can't wait to move back to Leeds and be near the tattoo parlour once more to jump in and book myself an appointment! I've already been thinking of ideas for my next tattoos and I'm dead set on getting a Suicide-pin-up girl on my arm or leg!
Another thing I've been considering is turning vegetarian. I don't eat red meat due to allergies already but I'm hoping to cut out eating fishies and birdies because after all they deserve a little freedom too! I have a friend who was vegan for a while but had to turn to vegetarian as his diet didn't help his anxiety so perhaps when we're both a little older we can each accept that challenge too
Last but not least, I intend to get back to uni and murder that degree! My tutors are going to be handing out top grades like Chuck Norris hands out beatdowns!
Busy, busy, busy...
