When I lived in Wyoming, the Shoshone and Arapaho Indians had a standard greeting for us townies: "Hey Cowboy," they'd say. I always understood it as an insult--whether it was intended to be or not, I can't be sure. But I would say to them, "Don't call me that; I ain't no fucking cowboy."

Cowboys are assholes.

I've been browsing the long list of GROUPS, but I'm not inclined to join any of them, cold. By "cold" I mean unless I get invited to join, which would be a cool thing in itself. I just don't consider myself enough of an authority on any of the listed subjects to feel like I have something to contribute. I suppose I could pick one...

I never thought of it that way. But that's what I get out of looking at the SB sets (among other things :lovesmile.

I am an absolute feminist, but I am the first to admit I have a raging case of penis envy. wink

Yea, that's the first thing I thought when I saw his post..."Oh, fuckbeans, another guy who thinks he'll be the first guy to 'get it' and will be showered by appreciative sex. He'll probably play coy if it happens, just to further the image."

Pretty transparent, though, even without my Hannibal Lector like skills of people detection. smile

Actually, you'd be amazed at how common it is for lowly members to hook up with SGs.... shocked

This is why I'm here.
One of the first posts I made on the boards included a link to a webpage that I think everybody should read. With the passing of Andrea Dworkin, and the debate on these (and probably many other) boards on Dworkin's work, I want to insert the link here as well.
The "Pornography Leads to Violence" stance is, technically, backwards. More...

There is a thing called knowledge of the world, which people do not have until they are middle-aged. It is something which cannot be taught to younger people, because it is not logical and does not obey laws which are constant. It has no rules. Only in the middle of life, a sense of balance develops--not by principle, not by deduction, not by knowledge of...

The nickname is easy. My favorite Sci-fi book of all times is John Brunner's "Shockwave Rider". One of the places in the book is "Tarnover". Reverse it, and there you go.

So, let me guess. revonrut is Turn Over backwards?

If I could make a small suggestion -

perhaps a slightly less manson-esque profile pic would get you a warmer reception on the boards.

Just a small suggestion from someone who is also older than the target age for this site.

yep, Shuggie Otis wrote that song.

it's featured on the re-issue of "Inspiration Information", Shuggie played all the instruments on the album himself and it's one of those works that defies categorization. soulful and forward-thinking, and worth seeking out.

I'm not familiar with Idiot Flesh, most new music I get into is stuff that friends turn me on to, so yeah - I'd be interested in checking that out.

Thats awesome. I was with a drum group ( the 101 singers ) though the group was disbanded this year.
I have always known I was native but just within the past couple of years had the resources in my area to fully embrace it. So I have not as of yet been to a sweat. It's on the to do list though.

I wouldn't worry about the age and everything. It is a very broad spectrum here. Some are assholes but most get along.

N8tvegrl Is gone to china for about another week or so but you should put in a request to join the first nations group. ( if interested )

Some thoughts on Suicide Girls, after a week or so of membership:

Y'know, personally I don't even like tats, piercings, bodymods, that's not why I signed on here. And I'm ambivalent about the premise that posing nude is empowering to women; once I wrote to the webmaster of a porn site saying I'm conflicted, because as much as I love looking at naked girls, I...

Interesting questions....

I can't say anything about your "girlfriend", but as woman...sexuality is a much a part of our lives as mens. And it is another form of aggresion/oppersion to tell women that there is something wrong with them if they feel sexual or enjoy sexual attention. Obviously, not all woman in the sex trade (I'm not sure SG qualifies as part of the Sex trade) are there cause its a choice. But how many men are say gas station attentdents because of choice. Often one does what one has to do to survive - given limited abilites or situation. I think one of the major issues of the sex trade and here I'm think more of prositituion, is that it is illegal. This illegality leave those participating to be vulnerable.

As for SG- I find it great cause the woman have control over how they present their sexuality...what they find errotic. I also love seeing the variety of bodies- there isn't an ideal here as in most of 'porn" industry. Some girls have a bit of cellulite or a tummy or uneven breasts. And guess what- most people find them attractive- and that is empowering.
