I'm not sure why I almost never update this thing anymore, but for anyone who cares, SORRY.
I FINALLY found a tatto artist to do some work for me. And I'm really fuckin' amped to get this work done. Not only has it been over a year since I went under the needle, but this guy is REALLY good. I had been looking around ever since the shop I had planned to go to moved away before I even set foot in the door (they were highly recommended by my roommates), but the new shop in town definitely didn't impress me and while one other shop was recommended to me again and again, I had heard bad things about the attitudes of some of the people there from some friends, so I hadn't checked it out yet. I started really lookin' after I got some unexpected money from my old job back in Austin and decided to go check out this place no matter what issues my friends had with them. I went by after work on Wednesday, they were closed. I went by on Thursday and they were closed, but I noticed the sign said they were open 12-6 every day, so I figured there must have been something going on. On Friday I didn't have much hope, but I stopped by anyway and they were open. I went in and started diggin' through all the portfolios, there were quite a few, but most weren't clearly labeled as to which one belonged to which artist and I couldn't just pull the desk girl aside to break it down for me as she was constantly busy since the shop was packed full of people. As I went over to grab the fourth or fifth portfolio a guy walked behind the counter, glanced over at me and then started talking to me about my tattoos and what I was there for. After a few minutes of talking about who had done my work so far and explaining that I hadn't found anybody suitable since I'd moved, we discussed my ideas for my next piece and he told me that he'd love to do it, but that he was sure anybody in the shop would be perfectly capable of doing a good job for me. He then pointed out which one of the portfolios had some of his most recent work in it and suggested I take a look and talk to the desk girl if I wanted to set anything up. I took anoter look atg his portfolio and realized it was the one I had been most impressed with already and after flipping through a couple more, I decided his work was by far the best for me and since he made me feel really comfortable I scheduled an appointment. I'm really fuckin' amped for this, but the drawback is that since he is very good, I hafta wait until December to get worked on. This is gonna be the longest wait I've ever had for a tattoo and it's driving me nuts already!
