Wow. For once, things went my way without too much effort. The girl I've been avoiding breaking up with (although we were never official, so I guess it wasn't really "breaking up") called me tonight and told me flat out how much she was into me and that she'd really like to take things farther if I wanted to, but she felt like I was giving her mixed signals. Perfect opening for me to tell her that I really didn't see this going anywhere and that she was more than welcome to get back on the man hunt. She took it much better than I expected, especially since last weekend she called and left me one of those "on the verge of tears" messages about how she didn't know what to do since she hadn't heard from me for two days. Anyway, it actually went really well and it doesn't look like it will be a pain to continue working with her (for those of you who haven't been following this story all the way through, I work at the same place as this girl), although that could always bite me in the ass.
