Here's what has happened since last friday. On friday morning at around 9:00am (no one was up of course, you know, musicians) someone starts pounding on the front door.
It's the police.
Apparently the someone called the cops and told them there was a live band rehearsing across the street that morning...haha. The cops were really cool though, they knew nothing was going on so they just said sorry and took off.
They couldn't tell us who called but we know who it is. The guy across the street just despises us for some reason. We've never done anything to him. He's just some fat little guy in his late 30's who's mad at the world. He never goes anywhere and no on ever comes to see him. I guess he just figures that since we're musicians we are just bad people.
Plus, I think he's racist. One of my roommates is black, and quite a few of my friends are too. They're all singers or rappers or producers, so basically none of them work real jobs, so at any given time there's at least 3 or 4 other guys over here, besides the people who live here. My friends have told me they've caught this guy staring at them, giving them the stink eye. But of course, just like all guys like this, if you look back at him he won't look you in the eye.
So, yeah, he needs an ass whooping.
I also went and saw one of my buddies perform at the Dragonfly. It was a hip hop show, so of course there was some major blazing going on in the back patio there. I lost count of all the blunts that were smoked. It was fun.
I got to watch these two guys battle, I didn't know them, but they were really good. They went back and forth for at least 10 minutes.
Next thing I know I see this big crowd around the womens bathroom. I hear someone yell "it's a fight!" So I peak over just in time to see my friend Gina dragged out of the bathroom by a bouncer....haha! I guess she whooped this girls ass in the bathroom. What's even funnier though was it was the promoter of the gig! hahahaha! My friend probably won't be playing there for awhile.
We were all out front, our whole group, and my friend who was supposed to perform is just shaking his head at our friends, the girls we were with. He said, "you girls are sooo ghetto!, I can't take you anywhere!" We left after that....hehe good times.
Then last night my band played our first show since we finished the CD. It went really good, actually, it was probably the best we've ever performed. The crowd was pretty good, for a Tuesday at least. Quite a few people came up to me and told me how great a singer I was. I said, "I don't know what you guys are on, but we better get some for everyone" haha!
The promoter who booked us was really cool to. He bought us beers all night. When we got there he told us, "I was out to eat with my friend at William Morris yesterday and he was looking at my schedule of up-coming shows I had booked, he saw you're band and told me you guys kicked ass and that I better make it a point to be at your show" So, apparently we have a fan at William Morris, sweet....
Next time though, I want to see some of my SG buddies there! You know who you are!
