It's Memorial Day and I'm gettin' all memorialized! I haven't turned on the TV yet, but I'm sure "Saving Private Ryan" and a plethora of other jingoistic movies are playing on TBS and all other subsidiary stations. I also see that Tom Hanks is dedicating a WWII memorial this weekend. Were the vets really like, "Should we get a real military hero to honor us by dedicating this memorial....Nah! Let's get that actor fella that played the fake soldier in that good movie!"? I wonder if all those red-blooded WWII vets know that Mr.Hanks was once a Bossum Buddy?!?
More music has arrived for my ears to feast on. I got some stuff from Smekkleysa.net (a super cool icelandic label) including a Mum cd of them doing the soundtrack for children's programming and an EP from a band with Mum members called: Andheri. Both are superbalicousness.
Also, a huge-ass half-pipe just went up behind an art gallery in my neighborhood! Whoot! Right on to the d-low skatepark! Now I just need a helmet or else....
My dog is shedding so much I'm thinking of shaving him... or maybe even Nair-ing him!!
Other than that, all is placid in J-Fizzleville. Oh, and I got tix to see "Camera Obscura" at the Merge Anniv. Show next month! Next to Iceland, Glasgow's got to be the best source for super tunes. It's the new Athens and the old Seattle combined.
