i thought i was pessimistic, then i watched the democratic debate last night. now, i'm absolutely hopeless. what a bunch of dunderheads! almost everyone shakes their fist and blames bush for putting us in our "situation" in iraq, yet they all voted for this shit last november. the best thing said was by al sharpton in his closing comments: "i'm gonna slap all those donkeys dressed like elephants in washington!" right on, my man. he's got my vote.
i just can't get used to my contacts. i think they're the wrong prescription, because my only problem with them is that i see worse with them in. but i hate wearing glasses and i think they make me ugly(ier), but i can't walk around in blurro-vision or i'll get hit by a bus or go home with a hobo after leaving the bar. ego or vision? hubris will be my demise, i'm sure of that. and it didn't even take three witches to peek into my prescribed future.
and finally, a few things i reccomend that all people carry ('cause i do):
1. a dictionary (but i am a serious malpropist)
2. a pocketknife ( remember in cast away when he gives his girlfriend the his keys with the pocket knife on it???)
3. chapstick ( i reccomend palmers cocoa butter, mmmmm)
4. a hankie ( a clean one is polite and a used on is handy)
okay, scouts, be prepared. with all this ado in our capital, there's no telling what we'll need.
i'm off to see belle & sebastian with girlblue.

american politics has always been interesting to me, but now i'm going to be affected by it all - and quite soon, too - it's starting to make me more than a little nervous.
