psych meds. who's on 'em? it seems like everyone, especially women. i guess men have beer, eh? the percentage of young people on psych meds is staggering. it says one of two (if not both) things to me: 1) our culture has caused, perpetuated, and condoned the medication of people due to mild tramuatazation from daily life. 2) said medicated people have been told and convinced that they can not function properly or at the least "feel okay" without their prescription. either option scares me. i like escapism as much as the next person, but i would just feel so sedated and controled with psych meds.
also, there is the fact that so many people are misdaignosed and put on this stuff without exhausting other natural options. then there's the bandwagoning effect of everyone wanting to be on psych meds so that they can have an excuse to whimper and moan about life. this dilutes the argument of the people who have actual uncontrolable chemical imbalances.
the special effects on tv is too much and the media oversensationalism has made humans feel boring and tame. if you're life isn't as dramatic as half of the reality tv shows out there, then how can you possibly expect to be loved? will fear of failure take to the backburner so you can use your instability and need of medication as excuses in life?
well, with the installation of my new time warner digi-2000 package, maybe i'll find out. 'cause come monday i'll have digital cable with habo/cinemax on demand, 2 sundance channels, IFC, com. central on demand, and hundreds of other channels to give me a mental blowjob.
