Inspired by a comment from Charley: A chronological list of celebrities I've been told I look like.

Ben Seaver from Growing Pains
Elvis Costello
Ted Allen from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy
Astro Boy (That one actually originated with me)
Clark Kent/Superman
Colin Meloy
Clive Owen (I'm pretty sure I was being made fun of at the time)
Some actor from a television...

You know, if those ORP jerks take over Ohio, we deserve it. Because Ohio Democrats, by and large, have no balls. There are, like, five Ohio Democrats I admire. And I can't think of the other three besides my own Rep (Tubbs-Jones) and Kucinich because I'm tired right now.
beckyjane:
I'm definitely going to have to do this...

and did Iowa fare well in your rankings?

The weekend trip to West Chester was a lot of fun. Even though it was 15+ hours of driving, traffic was light, so it was a relaxing drive.

Drinking started in earnest at about 5:30 on Saturday. Andy Sleaze and I put on a horseshoes exhibition. I was hammered by nine or so. Smoking pot just completely ended me, and I couldn't keep my head...

Glad to hear that you had a good trip, my friend.

On the whole, I don't mind the new layout. The boards are a bit trickier than before, but I never really frequented them to begin with.

Thanks for the birthday wishes Haverchuck. smile

I saw Garden State the other night. What a beautiful film. It also firmly cemented my love for Natalie Portman. I now realize that I need to star in a TV series, write direct and star in a brilliant picture, and just sit back and wait for Natalie to come to me. A flawless plan.

Do you have any idea how in love i was with Linda Cardellini?

I just saw a sneak preview of Shaun of the Dead. During the first five minutes I was all set to hate it, but it was very funny. And I not one of those people that comes to a movie all ready to laugh at a bunch of cheesy crap. It was genuinely good; also not a parody of zombie movies. A zombie movie...

Somehow I've gone without knowing of this movie.

...not that I've been to a whole bunch of films this year, again. Don't wanna sound like a lazy sod, but seeing the running time of The Corporation I figured I'd see it at home.

I was just wondering yesterday- when is the next Wes Anderson movie? I'm sure there are dozens of online sources for this type of info (or rumor, if info is short).
thefuckoffkid:
Thanks for your note in my journal. I'm a slack shit with replying sometimes, but it's appreciated. smile

Never heard of the movie, but we're 15 years behind most things down here wink

I really want to move to California. I'll have my master's in four years, then I'll leave DC. San Francisco hopefully, or LA.
Thank goodness I get paid tomorrow.

"I met a tasty baby in Michigan...."

Not really, but the wedding was kind of fun. We were in Gladwin, a little town north of Flint. I got to see my family in Oberlin, which was cool, and I took care of a six month backlog of dirty laundry. Nothing exciting planned for August. This is going to be a boring month.

Thanks for the comments. The thing that angers me about my father being laid-off is that he's been there 14 years. He was two years away from retirement. Now, they eliminated his position, so there won't be anyone replacing him, yet he has enough paid time off to last him until about April of next year. I mean, how much money are they really saving? How much of a raise is the big boss gonna get for eliminating 35 or so management jobs?

Oh and that gay-marriage amendment unfortunately passed with flying colors. Way to go people. Ban something that's already illegal whatever

Why thank you! smile

Busy weekend. Ted leo was awesome, as was The Good Life. I "met" Dave Grohl at the Black Cat on Friday. Went to Atlantic City on Saturday, and now I'm dirt poor for the next two weeks until payday frown . I'm not too intelligent when it comes to handling finances. Driving to michigan fro a wedding on Friday.

I hate Bill O'Reilly.

My sentiments exactly

My buddy's band played a show at the University of Mayland radio station today. Rescue the Dead. It was pretty good. They're melodic hardcore, I'm not too into it, but they're really tight. Three shows this week, The Hives, Ted Leo, and The Good Life. Should be a fun week.

Fun weekend. I spent Friday night in Wilmington, DE hanging out with a college friend I haven't seen in awhile. The evening was slightly marred by his decision to try to stop his car which he had forgotten to put in park from hitting another car by sticking his leg in between them. Wow swollen. Otherwise good times. My roommate and I then went to...

It's an open event for anybody who wants to come, we just have very large regular attendees who handle any unruly people. wink

Wreernt and myself try to supply some kind of dinner if we get in advance an accurate number of people who wish to show up, otherwise there are always copeous amounts of snacks and we live withen delivery distance of quite a few places.

The event is BYOB and we ask you either drink responsibly, or preferably a DD.

I have an Xbox and Gamecube and quite a few games for each. I have a bunch of "dead" systems as well that I can drag out if anybody wants to play those.

As for games, we tend to play whatever people suggest or bring,, mostly four player games, or two player games that go quickly so nobody has to sit too long.

Stuff we have been playing recently Halo, Mario Kart Double Dash, and Pac Man Vs.

We'll also have been known to bust out some board games like Trivia persuit that large groups can play or to all figure out a movie to throw in.

So there's not really an overall set plan other than to meet new people, see old friends, and have a good time.

We're glad to say the event has slowly grown over time and people who come once tend to want to come to the next month's night.

If you have any more questions about game night or need directions feel free to hit me up via my email in my journal contact button.
