10 second constant

been going for runs in the mornings
and after it stretches and warm down
i do ten seconds each leg/arm/side and while doing these one day
i got to thinking a little about the amount of time that passes in ten seconds

if you try counting it ...
1 one thousand... 2 one thousand... 3 one thousand...
4 one thousand... 5 one thousand... 6 one thousand...
7 one thousand... 8 one thousand... 9 one thousand... 10.

there ain't a whole lot you can do in that time
however, if you add ten seconds on itself it would multiply
and give us our minutes, hours, days & eventually our years
our every waking and sleeping moment are made up of seconds

it goes by so quickly we hardly take note

3,600 seconds make up an hour
86,400 seconds make up a day
31,557,600 seconds make up a year

this leads me on to possibly re-iterating what has probably been said by some scientist
somewhere in the world before today.
that its facile to remark that 'time is of the essence' because i think we are the essence of time. without our existence would time itself also cease to exist?
time is our constant
if a tree fell in the forest would we hear the sound it made?
deep i know. i think way too much! i need me to get a life

*fails and goes back to reading book*
