last night i went to see buckethead-WOW-I haven't enjoyed a show that much in a long time, especially when its someone you don't know much about or aren't even into.that motherfucker can play-i didn't even know a guitar could make sounds like that.a couple times during the show he would start a cd deck which looped some guy talking and he had these rubber heads that had animatronic lips which he held up by their hair-weird-entertaining.Brain played drums and House on bass-they were great
before the show my co-worker and I went backstage to meet him and to take specs off of his current guitar-he's tired of it 'cause it reminds him of "That band" he was in for a little bit-(g-n-r) as he said(he wouldn't say the band name)he quit "that band" a little while ago, guess it was just a bad experience for him.
we wanted to get a picture with him but he was just wearing a michael myers mask-he told us to come back after the show to get one since he'd be in his full mask.so we went backstage after the show and his back was turned to us-we didn't expect it, but he turned around-he wasn't wearing a mask-his eyes were extremely blood shot, looked like he might have been crying(i don't know)-he said something wasn't right and it wasn't a good time-so we headed for the door.-i hope everything was alright ,i hope no one died-he seemed very upset.
I must say that he was one of the nicest, coolest, down to earth people i've EVER met-he was extremely grateful that we came out and apologetic about a couple of the problems with the guest list.very unusual for a rock star to act that way-i've met some assholes before famous or not-but Buckethead seems to be a great human being and i couldn't say enough good things about him.
i feel honored and priveledged that we get to make a guitar for him and that he showed us his face for just a minute-yesterday i wouldn't have thought i'd be writing these things today- but some times people can amaze you.
