Yantic is a part of Norwich that remains seperated from the rest of the city by a railroad and route 2; the state highway connecting Hartford to Norwich. There's only one way in or out.
There's not much in this small corner of town. There's a post office, a lot of old mill houses, a junkyard, an abandoned factory, an old stone church, and a stripclub named "juicees" that's locally famous for having the ugliest strippers in the area. It's true. I went there once to check it out. The hottest girl there was just some plain, normal looking black girl in a g-string and high heels. the rest of the dancers were all nasty. the only people who go there are guys between 18 and 21 because they don't serve alcohol.
Yantic borders Franklin, and there's even a road to go in and out of Yantic from Franklin, but it's been closed off and now is a mess of potholes. This used to be route 32, another state highway, but when they built the super highways under Eisenhower, Route 32 was moved over a little bit. so now on the franklin side of the border, they have this broken down side street, and another small residential side street named sodom road.
sodom road got it's name when it got created as a result of the highways that they built in the 50's. to serve the factory workers at the once functioning factory in Yantic as well as the farmers in Franklin, there was a whorehouse on the old route 32 (now sodom rd). when this road was separated from the new route 32, that had to be pushed over due to the construction of route 2 the town had to name it. of all the people who lived on the street, the town of franklin asked the pimp who owned the whorehouse what they should name the raod. and lo and behold, sodom road came to be.
