Word just got to me that Corey Lewis' (creator of Sharknife) new book has received extremely low initial orders.
For those of you cats not familar with the way comic book publishing works - you advertise your comic in a catalogue called Previews three months before publication. Two months later you receive your initial orders which determine your print run.
If you're an independent creator and you have non-existent orders - guess what happens?
This doesn't get published:
Here's the thing - I'm not cool with that. Sharknife was one of my favorite comics of the past year and I couldn't wait to read this title. Corey Lewis proved with Sharknife that action comics - hell, comics as a whole - have a long way to go. He's young, he's new, and he's hungry to make the greatest action comics the world has ever seen. Peng looks to not only continue that trend, but I believe it'll reinvent the action wheel yet again. However, if the situation is the way I understand it orders may be so low that the book won't be released.
That said, I want to do whatever I can to support this book.
So, here's the deal --
If you're reading this pre-order a copy of Peng. Once you receive it, read it, and if you feel like it's the biggest piece of crap on the planet, I'll BUY IT from you.
That's right - I'll put my hard earned dollars where my mouth is just so I can read this comic. All that's required of you is that you PRE-ORDER (not wait to buy it in the store, but actually go to Khepri.com and PRE-ORDER the title now). Thanks to Khepri, it takes about less than five clicks to do and is barely more than the price of a burrito to purchase.
Still not convinced? Corey put up the following preview pages that had me salivating for this even more.
How can you look at these pages and NOT pre-order .
I'd like to make a few things clear - I didn't work on this book nor do I have any financial interest. I've never even met Corey. Heck, it's not even published by Image. It's truly what I've been saying - I just want to read the damn thing.
Make it happen, folks. Pre-Order NOW.

Corey Lewis rocks. Harder than most, in fact.
