Y'know, somedays I'm under the impression a crazy butterfly's wings are flapping with the sole purpose of putting my day into the pooper.
SEE: Alexander and the Terrible, No Good Very Bad Day for a fine representation of my morning.
The happy ending? Post-noon rocked super hard.
I suppose the universe just had to balance the inevitable awesome with a small, but effective dose of...

There's been more suck than awesome in my life recently.
mck:
Actually, maybe that's not true. I do have a lot of awesome.
You folks enjoy music...
Tell me, is UR#6 a swell name for a band?
I'm not actually starting up a real band, but it's for something I'm working on. While I usually don't dig pop culture references within a story I thought of the band name and couldn't stop laughing.
I think I like it.

Then I say, yes!
Note to self: Miller Genuine Draft does NOT help the writing process.
Things were going well at first, but after a good helping of MGD I'm just about as productive as a toad in a toaster.

Man, you Image types. Always drinking.
ericstephenson:
Miller Genuine Draft doesn't help you do anything but piss and puke, Joe.
Just say no, man. Drink real beer.

Want to own the freakiest movie of all time?
Look no further as The Innocents is being released on DVD tomorrow.
It's no secret - I'm a complete and utter movie nerd. I've seen a lot of flicks. Yet none have freaked me out nearly as much as The Innocents. Seriously, it's spooky stuff.

Is there anybody reading this in the SF Bay Area that knows how to sew jackets of the leather and wool (?) varities and would be willing to do so on the cheap?
Both of my jackets have been assaulted by the stairwell at work which has led to me either:
1) wearing them and looking like a hobo
or
2) retiring them to the...

Cheers Joe! Hopefully it'll lead to some work.
I just finished Tricked, the new graphic novel by Alex Robinson.
A person could only wish that all comics were this good.
Ever since the first time I read Box Office Poison I've been in love with Robinson's work. However, I'll admit that all these years I've wondered if he was a one trick pony. I felt it was possible that it was the...

Word just got to me that Corey Lewis' (creator of Sharknife) new book has received extremely low initial orders.
For those of you cats not familar with the way comic book publishing works - you advertise your comic in a catalogue called Previews three months before publication. Two months later you receive your initial orders which determine your print run.
If you're an independent...

ericstephenson:
Corey Lewis rocks. Harder than most, in fact.
On my way home from the pub I found out that MUNI fees were going up another quarter.
It's possible time has been speeding by, but didn't we just have a quarter increase not too long ago? When I moved out here just over two years ago it was only a buck.
Weak.

You know what rules?
Garage sales.
You know what rules even more?
Garage sales with tons of comics.
I made out like a bandit at one this weekend. In the end I was able to get a lot of great stuff including some obscure Steve Ditko series from the eighties, Ed Brubaker's Dead Enders, Paul Pope's Heavy Liquid, a Grant Morrison Secret Origins issue, and...
