For as well as things seem to be going at work, they're really not that good.
Listening to the grapevine tells you that people are ready to leave at a moment's notice and I, for one, am one of those, but not without a safety net. And with that, I polish up my rsum and cover letter and get ready to take on new challenges, those which I so handily avoided when I was finishing up college years ago. Feeling myself unready for the corporate environment, I often found myself talking myself out of jobs during the interview and settling for a job that was beneath my learned skills.
Immaturity and fear guided my motives then and now those traits have made way for the aged, more experienced person. An environ which I was so eager to avoid is now one for which I feel myself ready (perhaps 10-12 years after the fact.) So the prospect of a new job has my mind reeling even if I haven't even gotten a bite from said company... and the dreamer continues to dream and consider the possibilities.
