8 more days until my birthday! Whee!!

The hockey game I went to last night was fun. We had seats up in the corner which turned out to be awesome! We were high, but we could see everything and nobody was sitting on one side of us so we never had to get up to let people by. Sweet. Most importantly, the Flames won. They tried to scare me in the third, but managed to defeat the Canucks 5 to 3.

I didn't get a part in the play I auditioned for, but I may end up doing some tech stuff for it. The other techies are super fun, so I imagine I would enjoy it. I've never done lights before, but Masquerade has assured me that it is easy.

The next bit is spoilered for its emo-osity. What? That can be a word if I want it to be.

So I couldn't go to the call-backs because I had to work. I was told that it wasn't necessary for the part they were considering me for anyways and that they would let me know on Sunday. Fair enough.

So, it's Sunday and I haven't heard anything. I had a feeling I wasn't going to get cast, but I was just hoping that I would find out about it before I had to go to a rehearsal with the guy who is directing the play I auditioned for. Still with me? I had been feeling a bit down over the last day so if I didn't get a part I just wanted a chance to be disappointed before having to deal with people. Especially people who are going to be heavily involved in the production over the next while.

So I get to the rehearsal and, while I'm waiting for things to get going, the director guy takes a call. From his end it's very clear that, yes, the play has been cast and he's contacted everybody and oh aren't we all going to have a grand time! Me = sad. And now it's time to run through this scene. Sigh. Never did get any official word. Just had to figure it out on my own. Thanks for that, AC.

Maybe the thing that upsets me the most is that the author of the new play is someone I used to be very close with. We have been reconnecting recently, but now he's going to be very involved in the play with a bunch of people I just started to hang aroung with. The biggest reason we grew apart before was that he excluded me from most group activities. Now he'll be hanging out with all these people that I consider friends... I guess I'm worried about being left out again.

Ok. Enough of that.



I'm going to be baking up a storm in the next week! I found a bunch of new truffle recipes that I'm going to try out too. Fun!

That's Suburbs on the 30th right? I will be getting back from Fort McMurray some time that day (early morning I think...) and yes, I will be in attendance. It would be delightful if you guys came up.
