Wow, i joined the Military group.... i thought it might be interesting to read what army types are thinking today. What did i discover? Douchebags, a plethora of douchebags. i was in thae army 5 years, went to 2 different "wars", never saw my family, got shit on by officers, worked for less than mimimum wage (when you add up the amount of time spent working), learned to be cold and angry, it was awesome... Through all of that, i knew the army was full of shit, that i was working as part of a mercenary force for the amerikan corporate empire, that the intersets being served had nothing to do with freedom or democracy, but rather the freedom for the wealthy classes of this cunt-ry to exploit other nations labor and resources. Not one person in the military group had anything to say about this, just the same jingoistic bumper sticker-flag waver nonsense that i used to see in AZ,(thankfully i don't see it in the new town.) i have to wonder, are the people joining today simply more boneheaded than the people enlisting during my time, or is the us military doing a better job at getting kids brainwashed with bullshit than they used to? i think part of the problem is this Vietnam Syndrome that amerikans have. We've been told since the 70's, we've got to support the troops, they have the toughest job, they protect our freedom, they die so we can have all of these wonderful things we've got here. We've been taught to support the troops, if not the actions they're part of. You know something? These kids going into the army today eat that shit up. They want to believe they're a part of something grand and proud. They want to believe they're suffering, little martyrs who deserve our admiration. You have to ask yourself, why do they fall for this so easily? i'm no sociologist, but i think i can come up with a contributing factor or two. Maybe it's the alienation felt by people in a crumbling, classist, consumer society. They feel little connection to their fellow man in a country that praises the dog-eat-dog nature of greed. In amerika you spend you're life hearing about life in terms of competition. You've got to be out to beat the other guy, the other buisness, the other team. Only winners are praised. And cheaters are rarely punished with any severity. i think this mindset is making it harder for people to forge lasting relationships, to be loyal friends and to feel like you can contribute to society. When you don't feel any real connection with people, it's easy to be suckered in by someone telling you you're a part of something great.
I could write my thesis on this, but nobody likes to read long journal entries. i guess i'll just give you something easy to deal with.
Hey anybody see the new girl's titties? Sweet.
