Hoping that everyone had a GREAT weekend! How they do fly by much too quickly!!
We have been busy at our house getting ready for the upcoming move. We had the home inspection, home appraisal and all that fun stuff take place this week (for our house that we are selling). We have just a little over 2 weeks until Escrow is closed and it's time to move to the new house (just a few streets away from this one - a bit bigger and a bit closer to the kiddo's school - but just "around the corner). How I need to get busy packing up the house....
One of my big tasks is to take down and carefully pack our artwork on the walls. This piece by Raya Weichbrod is on the wall in our living room and I really love the beautiful colors and funky style that she presents
I also need lots of extra boxes for the books in our house. I love that our kids enjoy reading so much - in fact, the last few books I read were at the prompting of our daughter, who introduced me to the cool Lemony Snicket "A Series of Unfortunate Events" books. They are full of adventure, mystery and interesting characters!! I only have half of the "series" read, so I need to get rolling on the rest to catch my daughter.
What was the last book you read? Do you have a favorite book that you recommend that I read??
I love this quote from Paul Sweeney:
"You know you've read a good book when you turn the last page and feel a little as if you have lost a friend."
That is so true!!!
A few weeks ago, I posted pix of my Maneki Neko (Lucky Cat) skirt that I had made from some fun fabric that SoBeIt and I found in Little Tokyo in LA at this quaint little Japanese fabric shop. Well, that same day, I also bought this red fabric with little Geisha girls on it, that the same seamstress made into a skirt for me. I just love the cute little girls, cats and puppies on the print
And the socks of the day I was wearing with the skirt... so here's a peek at them too
Happy "early" Birthday (Monday) to the beautiful Ella!! I hope your day is full of fun and smiles!!
And the amazing Lexie's Cake & Ice Cream day is on Thursday the 24th..... while the gorgeous Arlo's is just a few days later on the 27th!! Hooray for the Birthday Girls!!!

I had a chance to see the socks of the day when you dedicated the mermaid pair to me. *grin* That made me so happy! I was to ill to respond though.
Let me know how to get the mermaid to you when you start getting settled. I would love to send her. I can try posting her online again, if that would help.
How is the packing going? I hope it is proceeding as planned. Are you moved yet?
Books... when I was down with strep I read Da Vinci Code, The Dwelling- sucked - and some comic books. Right now I am reading The Bonesetters Daughter, and A Great and Terrible Beauty.
I would recommend The Unusual Life of Tristan Smith, Vurt, and The Neverending Story!
Hugs and love,
