FRIDAY!! WOO HOO! WOO HOO!!! Gotta love Friday's with the weekend ahead of us and leisure on the brain!
The wonderful winona reminded me of the cool Ferris Bueller's Day Off slogan: LEISURE RULES
today - and so I thought I would share one of my favorite FBDO lines:
"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
Appropriate enough for a wonderful Friday, dontcha think!! I especially love this movie, because a few years ago I was on a short-lived Game Show called "Debt" with Wink Martindale. It was a pop-culture questioned show and if you made it to the last round, you had to have a pre-researched "area" that you thought your expertise could beat the question-writers/researchers on the show. You would give them your favorite "area" of pop culture knowledge - and they would research it and give you a tough-ass question to try and answer on the subject. Mine was the movie, "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and I watched that move endlessly and thought I knew anything they could ask me.... but alas, I made it thru the first round & played the second round - but this other contestant got me on the 2nd round and he went onto the last one... and I didn't get to play my Ferris question.
Oh well - I did get "parting gifts" - ha ha!
What are YOU doing this weekend to enjoy LEISURE?? Tell me all your plans!!!

I'm listening to Operation Ivy this morning. I haven't pulled this CD out for SO LONG and I really like it! Sometimes it's so fun to hear a band that you haven't played for a long time - it brings back great memories of that time in your life.
OI always reminds me of when SoBeIt and I were still dating and we used to drive down to Newport Beach a lot and eat at The Crab Cooker, and on the weekends, would go to Spanky's club in Riverside, CA to see bands play (one of which was No Doubt when Gwen was like 21 years old and only 30 people would show up to see their ska shows & her brother was still in the band playing keyborads - they were basically, a young, new band - it was crazy!)
Do you have any bands that do that to you - or anyone you haven't listened to for a long time, but have the itch to pull out?? Tell me about them.

I need to play catch-up on my "SOCKS OF THE DAY" because I didn't post them 1 day... and have another pair today.... soooooo you poor SG friends have to suffer thru 2 SOCKS pictures. First my pinkie socks & 2nd my Crab socks.

YUP...i got lots of BABES IN TOYLAND stories...i only saw them live 6 times, but those 6 times are very memorable & vivid times. like seeing them on 3 consecutive nites on their headlining club tour & meeting them for the 1st time...it was so surreal! and of course backstage in chicago was probly the best time ever. lori still calls me on my bday just to wish me a happy bday, how cool is that?
any recommendations on the japanese punk bands? do you know of the boredoms or ex-girl?
are you into any other grrrl bands or grrrl fronted bands?
and ive heard of GUSH....but i dont think ive ever heard anything by them, im on the mailing list i believe. i miss the murmurs though!!!
happy valentines day to you sweetie!!!
