God, it feels like forever since I've been on. Just a busy last couple of weeks. Trying hard to keep up with things. Next week, there will be more time what with the break between quarters.
Thinking about major decisions, mainly, I need to buy a new(er) car. My current car is just falling apart too slowly to keep up with fixing. Too expensive, since I have other bills to pay off.
I have 3 quarters of courses to go in my master's program. Contemplating what to do and where to go. I'd like to go into research, but do I really want to? I looked into getting a another master's through my current school, and, the difference in courses is 3. Right now, I'm working on an M.S. in psychology of culture. I thought about perhaps getting an M.S. in media psychology after this, and I'd probably have to take an additional 3 courses. I figured if I get the M.S. in media, then I can finally combine my passions and pastimes: pop culture, writing, psychology, communications, and social commentary. I really want to create a unique position for myself, in how I present myself as a psychologist. I'd like to be able to teach, and do research and consulting on the side, in addition to writing and publishing my own pieces, probably non-fiction at first. Anything I do write would have to be research articles, pushing towards something else. Maybe I apply for a position as a professor somewhere, and pursue a PhD alongside.
Honestly, if I do decide to get the M.S. in media psych (which sounds plausible), I'd rather take a break academically from psych, work, save, and instead focus on professional writing (journalism, perhaps) or try to publish my non-fiction.
Or I could move to L.A. and work for a catering company and get involved in wacky hijinx while on the job. (Party Down reference)

opheliadoll:
I've been wanting to read that book since the moment I saw it at Borders last year...It seemed so intriguing. Thanks!
