Spent a few days in Grayling, MI. We rode horse and an appaloosa mule...

Went kayaking on the Manistee River...

Hiked at Hartwick Pines...

Even found time to stop by a brewery for a flight...

Katie & I went on our 1st backpacking adventure, we hiked North Manitou Island for 2 nights and 3 days. Had a great time, we will definitely be back. We camped on the south end of the island near Fredrickson and explored the southern half of the island. It was used as a source of wood for steam ships and later on for lumber. After the lumber era was over some people took advantage of the cleared land for farming, but by the 1960's it was pretty much uninhabited. It is now part of the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore in northern Michigan and forest is slowly taking back the island, accept for the sand dunes.

The show was at the Etihad Stadium,
