Saw the band OURS last night with my buddy Alexi. OURS was opening up for a band called Circa Survive along with Fear Before the March of Flames and Dear and the Headlights. I got to meet Jimmy Gnecco the lead singer for OURS a few hours before the show and got a free CD sampler and a poster. I've met Jimmy numerous times during the years and he is a cool guy.

Just as I feared the three other bands were crap emo/screemo bands that made my head hurt and my ears bleed. To top that off the audience was made up of mostly 16-year old idiots and that made Alexi and I feel like old farts. The kids obviously loved the emo crap and were yelling nonsense during OURS' set. OURS was great but they only played 6 songs. Jimmy sounded in top form and the musicianship from the rest of the band was amazing. As OURS ended their last song, people were yelling for them to get off the stage. One 16-year old boy wearing black eyeliner and pimple cream had the balls to say that Jimmy sounded like "a fag with his high voice". I was so disgusted with the crowd that I only caught one song from the headliner Circa Survive and left.

I almost came close to saying "get a life punks" or "damn kids" but then that would really make me old (pulling out the dentures) ;-) If only these dummies would open their hearts and ears. Listen to a variety of music like I did when I was a youngster :-) They're missin' out I tells ya.
