So for some reason, 100 gallons of propane - totalling $270 - only heated this house for 20 days. I can't smell a leak so I dont know whats going on. In MI, my monthly bill was regularly $60, and my place was probably 200sq ft bigger then. This means many things:
We are going to freeze to death this winter.
If we don't die, we obviously wont want to winter in this place next year.
If we're going to move again, we might just move out to the west coast
I hate moving.
I can't order another propane delivery until probably Wednesday, and it takes them 3 days to get out here.. and according to the meter on the tank, the gas will run out tomorrow afternoon. I have a bunch of winterizing stuff on order which should show up on thursday, to try and make the gas last longer when they fill it up next, but I can't afford a 3rd delivery. I'm out of money. So whenever Dryad isnt home, I shut off the heat. Its 58 degrees in the house right now, which isnt terrible because I'm bundled up, but the place is all hardwood floors so I feel like I'm hanging out in an igloo. Its only going to get worse, by January I'm expecting it to get into the low 40's, high 30's when I shut off the heat.
So, I guess what I'm saying is, Stay Cool. I know I will.

as for the gas thing, tell the gas company they need to check your propane tank for leaks as well, legally they're supposed to do it if runs down to empty, but make sure they check it.
